Campione
A tiny village wedged where a gorge meets the west shore, walled in by cliffs, and one of the most committed wind-sport corners of the lake. The terrain squeezes both winds into something stronger than the map suggests, and unlike most of Garda, kite teaching here happens from the shore.

Which wind works here
Both, with a local amplifier. The cliff walls channel the morning Pelér onto this shore hard, and Campione regularly reads among the strongest spots on the lake when the northerly runs. The afternoon Ora is a fixture too, arriving across the water with power on thermal days. The same walls that accelerate the wind can make it gustier close in, so expect a livelier ride near the shore than in the open band.
Getting on the water
Campione is one of the lake's two legal beach launches for kiting, and it runs through the local club: Kite Campione handles membership and the launch. Several schools here also teach from boats, more than at Navene, so lessons are easy to arrange either way. The deep water starts almost immediately. The village's windsurf tradition runs decades deep, and wingfoilers have adopted the place with enthusiasm. It is a drive-in, gear-up, get-out spot with a dedicated crowd rather than a promenade scene.
Good to know
